RSU #34 seeks candidates that are positive, flexible and willing to learn within a variety of educational settings. Preference will be given to those with prior experience or training in special education.
Qualified candidates would have applicable Maine Department of Education Ed Tech Certification and CHRC (fingerprint and background check).
Additional Information: Qualified candidates should submit a completed non-teaching application, cover letter, resume, transcripts, 3 letters of recommendation and copies of certification to the Superintendent's Office. Alton Elementary School – Part-Time Ed Tech II (PreK/K, 2-3 hours daily)

RSU #34 seeks a professional, student-focused Ed Tech II to provide classroom support in a combination pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classroom. The successful candidate will be a positive, flexible and capable team player with autonomy in seeing and meeting needs in a helpful, supportive manner. CHRC and Maine Ed Tech II certification required.

Leonard Middle School:
Choral Accompanist

Leonard Middle School seeks a piano accompanist for an 8th grade chorus class which meets Tuesdays from 8:35 to 9:50. Applicants should have advanced piano skills and enjoy working with children. Accompanying experience is preferred, but not required.

Intervention and Extension Educational Technician III Position

RSU 34 and Leonard Middle School seek a skilled, student-focused, and motivated applicant to serve 7th grade students as an Ed. Tech III. In this role the Ed Tech will work with the 7th grade team of teachers to provide interventions and extensions for students, in consultation with a literacy specialist and the Chapter 104 (gifted & talented) specialist.
LMS is a middle school serving approximately 300 six, seventh and eighth graders. There is a strong culture of communication, collaboration, and cooperation among staff, students, and families. The school fosters student growth through unique and varied experiences for the students, strong instructional programming, and dedicated staff doing “what’s best for students.” The following expectations are part of this position:
Values and accepts children for themselves
Believes that children are capable and competent learners despite challenges
Collaborates openly and productively with classroom teachers and other staff
Seeks out and uses appropriate resources
Plans daily small group and individual intervention lessons tailored to students’ literacy needs
Supports a co-teaching model within the classroom
Engages students in meaningful literacy activities and extensions
Maintains notes and data about student progress and shares results with staff and families
Is knowledgeable about the typical and atypical needs of students

Position Requirements: Experience with literacy instruction preferred
Educational Technician III certification
