Educational Technician I’s & III’s

RSU #34 seeks a candidate that is positive, flexible and willing to learn within a variety of educational settings. Preference will be given to those with prior experience or training in the area of secondary education particularly math and science.

Must hold a valid Maine DOE Certificate and CHRC

Elementary Schools:
30 hour a week Ed Tech I

RSU 34 and Old Town Elementary School will be hiring a 30 hour a week Ed Tech I position to assist with and support the second grade students at our school. There are 4 classroom teachers with about 20 students in each classroom at OTES. The Education Technician will work directly with students, support and reinforce lessons, and create learning experiences to help students grow academically, behaviorally, and socially throughout the school year.
Position Requirements:
• Must exhibit positive relationships with co-workers, students, and parents
• Maintain confidentiality with student information
• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the teacher.
• Assist in preparation of classroom materials and class management functions
• Exhibit positive language and behavior skills as a model for children and families
• Any other appropriate duties the supervisor deems necessary.
Qualifications: Must have Ed Tech I certification, Criminal Background Check, Fingerprinting, Reference Check

30 hour a week Ed Tech III

RSU 34 and Old Town Elementary School will be hiring a 30 hour a week Ed Tech III position to assist with and support the library program at our school. The program serves approximately 550 students in pre-k through 5th grade. The Education Technician will supervise students, support and reinforce lessons, and create learning experiences to help students grow academically, behaviorally, and socially throughout the school year.
Position Requirements:
• Must exhibit positive relationships with co-workers, students, and parents
• Maintain confidentiality with student information
• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the librarian.
• Assists in preparation of classroom materials and class management functions
• Instructs and models library skills with a variety of students and grade levels
• Promote reading through book talks, book selection and reading enthusiasm.
• Maintains library collection and materials for circulation.
• Exhibit positive language and behavior skills as a model for children and families
• Any other appropriate duties the supervisor deems necessary.

Educational Technician II

Old Town Elementary School will be hiring a 30 hour a week Ed Tech II position to assist with and support the Pre-K Program at our school. The program serves 4 year olds in our community in two sessions (8:00 to 10:30am and 11:30 to 2:00 pm) with 16 students in each session. The Education Technician will supervise students, support and reinforce lessons, and create learning experiences to help students grow academically, behaviorally, and socially throughout the school year.
Position Requirements:
• Must exhibit positive relationships with co-workers, students, and parents
• Maintain confidentiality with student information
• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the teacher.
• Assist in preparation of classroom materials and class management functions
• Exhibit positive language and behavior skills as a model for children and families

Old Town High School:
Assistant Principal / Athletic Director – RE-OPENED – July 11, 2017

Old Town High School is looking for an energetic, motivated professional educator looking to become part of a three-person administrative team.
The individual in this position will be an integral part of the team, and should have a demonstrated ability to work with students, teachers, coaches, parents and the community in an effort to provide each student with an opportunity to become a part of a long history of success at Old Town High School.
The individual will have oversight of the extra-curricular programming at Old Town High School and he or she will be the head disciplinarian in the building.
Old Town High School has an enrollment of approximately 500 students, offers 16 varsity sports, and has high expectations for fielding competitive athletic programs with student-athletes who understand the responsibility that goes with representing their school and community.

Alternative Education Teacher

RSU 34 & Old Town High School are looking for a full-time Alternative Education teacher for a new, developing program. The successful candidate should be dynamic, creative and energetic. They should have a thorough understanding of the social, emotional, and educational needs of a high school student. They must also have the mindset and desire to assist and support our students through all phases of the high school experience.

JV Girls Basketball Coach

Old Town High School is seeking a qualified JV Girls Basketball Coach.
Must have Maine DOE Fingerprint Certification (CHRC) or be able to obtain it before coaching begins.
