Elementary Schools:
Literacy Intervention Educational Technician III Position

Old Town Elementary School is seeking skilled, student-focused, and motivated applicants for an Ed. Tech III position. These educators will serve students in the area of literacy intervention starting in the fall of 2017. OTES is a Pre-K through 5th grade elementary school with about 550 students enrolled. There is a strong culture of communication, collaboration, and cooperation among staff, students, and families. The school fosters student growth through unique and varied experiences for the students, strong instructional programming, and dedicated staff doing “what’s best for students.” The following expectations are part of the Ed. Tech III position:
• Values and accepts children for themselves
• Believes that children are capable and competent learners despite challenges
• Collaborates openly and productively with classroom teachers and other staff
• Seeks out and uses appropriate resources
• Plans daily small group and individual intervention lessons tailored to students’ literacy needs
• Engages students in meaningful literacy activities
• Maintains notes and data about student progress and shares results with staff and families
• Is knowledgeable about the typical and atypical literacy needs of elementary students

Position Requirements for Application:
Experience with elementary literacy instruction preferred
Educational Technician III certification & NCLB / ESSA authorization

Kindergarten Teacher

RSU 34 and Old Town Elementary are seeking a collaborative, innovative, and dynamic Kindergarten grade teacher to join our staff in the fall of 2017. Our school is located near the University of Maine and serves about 550 students in the Pre-K to 5th Grade setting. The school has a strong reputation of high expectations for all learners and sound instructional practices to meet the needs of a variety of learners. A new professional joining our school staff must have the following credentials: A strong work ethic, passion for working with children, a kind heart, and an openness to working with a variety of families and learners.

Leonard Middle School:
Intervention and Extension Educational Technician III Position

RSU 34 and Leonard Middle School seek a skilled, student-focused, and motivated applicant to serve 7th grade students as an Ed. Tech III. In this role the Ed Tech will work with the 7th grade team of teachers to provide interventions and extensions for students, in consultation with a literacy specialist and the Chapter 104 (gifted & talented) specialist.
LMS is a middle school serving approximately 300 six, seventh and eighth graders. There is a strong culture of communication, collaboration, and cooperation among staff, students, and families. The school fosters student growth through unique and varied experiences for the students, strong instructional programming, and dedicated staff doing “what’s best for students.” The following expectations are part of this position:
Values and accepts children for themselves
Believes that children are capable and competent learners despite challenges
Collaborates openly and productively with classroom teachers and other staff
Seeks out and uses appropriate resources
Plans daily small group and individual intervention lessons tailored to students’ literacy needs
Supports a co-teaching model within the classroom
Engages students in meaningful literacy activities and extensions
Maintains notes and data about student progress and shares results with staff and families
Is knowledgeable about the typical and atypical needs of students

Position Requirements: Experience with literacy instruction preferred
Educational Technician III certification

6th Grade Teacher

Leonard Middle School is a 6th-8th grade middle school with approximately 315 students. We seek a dynamic, collaborative colleague to join our 6th grade team. Applicants with a deep appreciation for a diversity of middle level learners, a student-centered approach, experience with standards based assessment, and a passion for integrated learning are encouraged to apply. Our successful candidate will be well-qualified in mathematics (preferably well-qualified in both mathematics and social studies).

JV Girls Basketball Coach

Old Town High School is seeking a qualified JV Girls Basketball Coach.
Must have Maine DOE Fingerprint Certification (CHRC) or be able to obtain it before coaching begins.
