First Days
Our first day for the 2022-2023 school year is on Thursday, September 1st for students in grade 9. We will begin at 8:30 am and conclude at 12 noon. Lunch will be provided. School begins for all students on Tuesday, September 6th. School starts each day at 8:30 am and ends at 3:00 pm.
Pick-up/Drop-off
For parents who wish to drop off and/or pick up their students at the beginning/end of each school day, we kindly ask that you do that at the rear of the building. We will have buses pick up and drop-off at the front of the building and we do want to keep those traffic patterns separated as much as possible.
Coyote Time
Coyote Time is a new addition to our schedule. Each student has been randomly assigned to a teacher who they will meet with every day for approximately 40 minutes. This is an opportunity for students to do any homework assigned, catch up on missing work, or meet with their teachers. This is a required time for all students, we ask that parents/guardians do not dismiss students during this time.
Fall Sports
Fall sports have started for OTHS. We still have time to join a team and be involved. If you are interested, please contact Jeremy Bousquet jeremy.bousqiet@rsu34.org . Sports schedules are available on our website and are updated as events change. We are excited for the sports season to begin and encourage all to be involved. Sports teams are looking for managers, volunteers, and help in many ways.
Class of 2026
We will hold an Orientation Day for incoming grade 9 students on September 1st from 8:30 to 12:00. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Transportation will be provided to those who need it. Students who reside in RSU #34 should contact the OTHS Main Office at 827-3910. Students who reside outside of RSU 34 should contact the bus company directly.
Chromebooks
We will be distributing School-Issued Chromebooks starting on Monday, August 29th. Devices can be picked up Monday to Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30. Parents/Guardians will need to complete some paperwork before devices can be given out. There is a $20 usage fee ($40 per family grades 6 to 12).
Attendance Counts!
Attendance is one of the biggest indicators of success in school. We have some amazing teachers, but they can only do so much when students are not in class. Doing the assigned work, while helpful, cannot replicate the instruction that was missed. Students who accrue 10 or more unexcused absences in a semester will lose their letter grade and earn a Credit Only (CO).
Yearbooks
Students who did not pick up their Yearbook from last school year should see Mrs. Turner during the first week of school.
Communication:
We will send out weekly emails to families each Wednesday to keep you up to date with what is happening at OTHS. The first set of emails will contain policies that will be important for all families to be aware of as we are rolling back to many pre-pandemic policies.
Seniors:
Lots of information will be emailed to seniors and families throughout the year, it is important that seniors be reading emails and making sure they are up to date on all of the information. Guidance will send information to seniors and parents/guardians to join the Class of 2023 Remind group.
Infinite Campus
Students and guardians can access schedules, grades, and attendance through the Infinite Campus Portal. Students will get reminders of their account information with their Chromebooks. Parents/Guardians who had accounts last year will still have access to those accounts. New to us families can fill out the form to request an account when you pick up your Chromebook.
