The Girls and Boys Cross Country teams competed today, in the largest high school cross country meet held in Maine, at the Festival of Champions Meet in Belfast, with over 75 schools and nearly 1800 runners, from Maine, and around New England and Canada. Team wise, both teams ran well against some very strong competition. Individually, for the girls Lida Kanoti, Lily Heitmann and Chloe Henry all finished just off their festival best times, Liz Preble ran a festival and overall course personal best time and freshman Linzy Heitmann finished 34th in the talented freshman race. For the boys, CJ Yanush led the way finishing 13th in the unseeded boys race with a personal best 5K time, Alex Roach finished 29th in the freshman race, also running a personal best 5K time, and Jesse Bouchard, Cameron Jones and Kevin Murray completed the scoring for the boys. Unfortunately, the boys' top runner, senior Hayna Francis, fell and injured himself during the 2nd half of the race and was unable to finish. The teams close out the regular season next Saturday in Houlton at the Greater Houlton XC Border Bash.

It's amazing the amount you can fit into a football 🏈 game! Very strong community showing for Youth Night, celebration night, donation night, and ohh, by the way, a football game that featured a comeback touchdown for Mr. Murray! Football played strong 💪 and came away with 36 - 14 W - Good Luck to Z. Ellis as he recovers from his new opportunity in life! Great Night for Coyote Nation!

RSU 34:: We have not yet received updated information on air quality in our region, but must make a decision in this moment about this evening's outdoor athletic events. Forecasted winds are supposed to shift and be directly from the south this afternoon--not good. For this reason we are erring on the side of caution and postponing all outdoor athletic games and practices in DEP identified zones labeled "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups"--including Old Town, Hermon, and Brewer.
This includes tonight's home middle school football/soccer games, and tonight's OTHS field hockey game @ Brewer and boys soccer @ Hermon. OTHS football will watch film and do a game walkthrough after school in the OTHS gym. We apologize for this late decision.

Todays LMS Soccer games vs Cohen and Football game vs. Reeds Brook have been postponed. Makeup dates to be determined. Teams will not practice.
