Events for the Week

The Class B Outdoor Track and Field Championships were held yesterday on a cold and rainy day at Freeport High School, and because of the weather, the meet is not officially over as the boys High Jump and girls and boys Pole Vaults still need to be completed at some point this coming week. But as of yesterday, the girls team was in 5th place, being led by Grace Willey with a 1st in the 100M Hurdles & a 3rd in the High Jump and Dominique Reinzo with 2nd places finishes in the Shot Put & Javelin and a 6th in Discus. They also received points from Bella Damboise (6th in Shot Put), Taylor Loring (8th in the 400M), Cassidy Rackliffe (8th in the 3200M), 5th place finishes from the 4x400M Relay team of Loring, Karina Dumond, Lexi Wesley & Kayleigh Johnston and the 4x800M Relay team of Wesley, Rackliffe, Myah Worster & Loring and had an 8th place finish from the 4x100M Relay team of Olivia Lizzotte, Johnston, Rhiannon Bousquet & Libby Saucier.
For the boys team, currently in 10th place, Corbin Flewelling with individual wins in the Long Jump & Triple Jump and James Cote with a 5th in the Long Jump & 6th in the 110M Hurdles were leading the way. Once this meet is completed this week, with Flewelling, Cote and Grayson Thibeault still needing to do the High Jump, a few team members may be heading to the New England Championship Meet next Saturday in Bangor.
